Where to Buy Pickleball Equipment: A Comprehensive Guide

If you're looking to get started with pickleball, you'll need to have the right equipment. In this comprehensive guide, we'll go over where to buy pickleball equipment so you can get started on playing this fun game.

Sporting Goods Stores

One of the most common places to buy pickleball equipment is at a sporting goods store. Stores like Dick's Sporting Goods, Academy Sports, and REI typically carry pickleball paddles, balls, and nets. However, the selection at these stores may be limited, and you may not find the specific equipment you're looking for.

Online Retailers

Shopping from the comfort of your own home is my favorite. Online retailers offer a bigger selection of pickle ball equipment and you can browse through hundreds of paddles, balls, nets and other accessories. 

There are many online retails stores, but Amazon, Walmart, and Pickleball Central are my go tos. Unlike shopping in person, you do not get to touch or feel the equipment or talk to a sales associate. So always make sure to do your research ahead of time and read reviews before purchasing to ensure you're getting high-quality equipment. Also be aware that not all online retailers have the same exchange or return policy.

Pickleball Specialty Stores

If you shop at a Pickleball specialty store, the store will sell equipment solely dedicated to pickleball equipment. You will meet sales associates that are very knowledgeable in pickleball equipment. The specialty store will carry a wider selection of high-quality products that you may not find at a regular sporting goods store or even online. Some popular specialty stores include Pickleball Central, Pickleball Depot, and Pickleball Station.

Sporting Goods Outlets

If you're just starting to play pickleball and don’t want to invest too much money on equipment, shopping at a sporting goods outlet store may be the place for you. These outlet stores typically offer a wide variety of sports equipment, including pickleball gear, at discounted prices. Some popular sporting goods outlet stores that I like to shop at are Nike, Adidas, and Under Armour.

Local Pickleball Clubs

Many local pickleball clubs sell pickleball equipment to their members at a discounted price. Sometimes they may have special items that you can only get as a member. Some clubs will even let you try out different paddles and balls before purchasing them to find the right fit for you. I would definitely take advantage of that if you are a member of a pickleball club. 

Secondhand Markets

Finally, if you're on a budget and looking to save money on pickleball equipment, you may want to consider buying secondhand. Websites like Craigslist, eBay, and Facebook Marketplace offer a wide selection of used equipment at discounted prices. However, it's important to be cautious when buying secondhand equipment. Secondhand markets normally has a final sale, no exchange or no return policy, so make sure you carefully inspect the equipment before purchasing.
