National Mall of Pickleball to Return For Second Straight Year

The popular pickleball event is back.

The Trust for the National Mall, Humana, and the Humana Foundation are teaming up to bring back the National Mall of Pickleball, which premiered last year. The theme for this year's event is "One of the Ages," and the event will search for the "ultimate duo" which must feature two players of different generations.

"To celebrate America’s most popular multigenerational sport, the National Mall of Pickleball will
search for the Ultimate Intergenerational Duo to encourage healthy, active lifestyles and
celebrate the connections made on – and off – the court this September on The National Mall," the event press release stated.

Six intergenerational pickleball duos will be selected to win a trip to the National Mall of Pickleball. The winners will be announced on August 8. Duos interested must submit their stories that include the role pickleball plays in their relationship for a chance to play.

"We are thrilled to host the second annual National Mall of Pickleball and once again welcome thousands of picklers and fans to the National Mall. We are grateful to our committed and innovative partners at Humana who, though the National Mall of Pickelball are bringing the game for everyone to the place for everyone," said Catherine Townsend, President and CEO of the Trust for the National Mall. "There's no better way and no better place to celebrate pickleball and the importance of connection across generations than the National Mall.
